CATW pratice 2

"The women who died in the waiting room" written by Jeneen Interlandi, talks about a 49-year-old wome, who passed away in a waiting room of a brooklyn hospital. She fell out of her chair and was struggling between two chairs for 20 minutes, while nurses and security cameras failed to help her. After 40 minuties, a nurse went to check up on her, but by that time the helpless woman woman passed away. "Public hospitals across the country have struggled to provide acute psychiatic care to the poor and uninsured", I completely agree with the author's statement.
Sometimes it makes me wonder why people especially highly educated people fail to understand the meaning of the word "emergency". One reason why i agree with the authoers statement is because last summer I had to make a trip to the emergency room in my neighborhood. My younger cousin fell off his bike and got a pretty deep cut on his forehead. I somehow managed to stop the bleeding, but we all know how kids react, when they get injured. I rushed him to the emergency room and was waiting there for good 3 hours to be seen by a nurse. Finally, one nurse came give him stiches. I am aware of the fact that our economical condition isnt that stable now, but we cannot compromise people's health.
Many people cannot afford medical insurance, therefore they cant make regular visits to the doctors. Even though their illness can be cured with just regular medication, they happen to make more visits to emergency. After spending so much moeny for the medication, along with the hospital bill, I really dont think the service is worth it. I always see nurses mostly taking their time and doing their own things. The question I ask is how long does it take to just devote little of your time to check a needy patient? If you have a chance to cure someone that why not?
Many questions will rise and many comemnts will be make because heakth is our first concern.

Revision of CATW 1

In this passage experpted from " An Education in Citizenship", it states that the House of Illinios has recently passed a bill that would allow young people who are non-citizen to pay in-state tuition rate at the colleges and Universities. In the fifth paragraph the author states that "why will we charge legal citizens from the other states more for tuition than we charge the non-citizen immigrants". I compeletly agree.
It is totally unfair for legal students to have to pay more money for college tuitions while illegal students get to pay the half amount of the tuition and get the same level of education.  This would be unjust to the citizens of the U.S.  Since the federal taxes that the parents of legal citizens pay help support the Pell Grants and other loan options that is being provided for the illegal students in Illinios. Than why should the legal students have to pay more money for education while their parents are helping the department of education?
A very close friend of mine is a citizen and he is attending a highly reputative college out state.  His parents have paid so much money for the education of their son. He recently found out that some of his classmates are not paying as much as he is because they are not legal in the U.S. Which is absurd! All along we have been believing that being a citizen of the United States gives you more benifits but in this case its the other way around. This quesions the governement and the law makers.
Therefore, the bill that the House of Illinios have passed seems unfair to the citizens. It really doesnt make sense why should they get to pay more than the illegal immigrants.
